Pharmacist Seeking Cabinetry and Countertops With an Ole Time Feel

Pharmacist and passionate healthcare advocate Wes Hickman of Leland NC stopped by Brunswick Cabinets and Countertops after seeing our sign and we are so glad he did. His mission for his pharmacy and passion for helping others is something we can get behind.

After growing up in the area and pursuing his Doctor of Pharmacy degree at UNC-Chapel Hill, Wes spent years in the large pharmacy chains before embarking out on his own. His personal experience working in chains set the stage for how he intended to “service” customers when he opened his own pharmacy in Leland NC. 

Wes’ pharmacy would service customers in a way that could conjure up feelings of the olden days where pharmacists not only had the time but took the time to educate customers on different health conditions and answer questions they have about their medications. 

This desire to bring back the service of the past would also be a feeling Wes wanted to see reflected in his pharmacy’s overall design even remarking that the pharmacy space should feel like you are walking into an old general store.

Customization Needed for Leland NC Pharmacy

To support his vision, we needed to narrow options to residential cabinets that could conform to a commercial retail application. We ultimately recommended the Fieldstone Cabinetry line to meet this need. While Fieldstone has full product lines, they also offer true customization and are willing to accept designs sketched on a piece of paper with exact dimensions (if necessary) in order to build a vision from scratch and make it exactly what a customer wants.

Wes opted to choose Fieldstone cabinets for the retail section of the pharmacy in Antiquity with the wood species Alder and paired them with Granite Blanca Azul for the countertops. 

So, what does he think about how things turned out? 

His selections were not only a hit with him but also with his customers. He says everyone that comes in remarks on how awesome it looks. And, from what we can tell from the Hickman’s Pharmacy Facebook page, his vision for delivering great service is pretty awesome too!
