Bringing A Bolivia Vision To Life
A couple from Bolivia, NC came to us with a clear vision for a kitchen remodeling project. Clear visions from our clients as to how they would like to transform their space can expedite the design-making process but more than anything a clear vision from a client challenges us as designers to make sure we can bring their vision to life!
From Design to Material Selection
For our Bolivia clients, they knew what they needed. The existing kitchen was functional but they needed more space. To get a good feel for the space challenges, our designer Chris took a proactive approach before his first visit and googled the home on Zillow.
With a “before” image of the kitchen available online, Chris was able to get an early start on how he could help address the couple’s space challenges. Chris went to work on creating solutions and took a mockup for a new kitchen design to the first on-site consultation.
With a kitchen cabinet layout prepared, Chris was able to dive into the specifics of the project with the client, answer the questions they had about the layout and at the same time allow them to begin to envision how their dream project would be brought to life.
Solutions for the client included extending the cabinets out along the range wall to provide more countertop space. The new layout also kept the same footprint of the original space to keep project costs down considerably and allow the homeowners to avoid having to redo their flooring.
A perfect layout solution was only part of the process, however. Discussing colors, door shapes and styles, trims and the materials were just as important for the project’s success. Samples would need to be reviewed by the client to see what everything looked like together.
Project Kickoff to Cabinet and Countertop Install
With decisions made and a green light from the clients, the cabinet and countertop project kicked off. The product was ordered and delivery was set. During the delivery, however, a small hiccup arose. Two Waypoint cabinet doors arrived with slight imperfections. Not to worry though, this premium brand resent new doors in great condition quickly for installation. We find over and over this is the type of value you receive when you select cabinets from quality manufacturers that are always willing to stand behind their products. It’s also why we choose to carry brands like Waypoint in our store.
Like any home improvement project, mistakes happen and obstacles arise but what Chris and the team knew wouldn’t change was the commitment to delivering a final product that met our clients’ needs. In the end, we felt very proud of this Bolivia kitchen’s transformation. Our kitchen redo is a big success thanks to Chris Gibson & Brunswick Kitchens and Countertops. After much debate, my architect husband and I decided to completely gut the kitchen. Our next decision was our best decision. That was the selection of Brunswick Kitchens and Countertops. From our first conversation, Chris Gibson understood what we wanted to do, anticipated our needs, and supported us through design, demo, installation and beyond. Chris effectively coordinated the demo, cabinet delivery and installation to minimize our kitchen-less time. His demo crew and Dave Foley, the woodworker / installer were professional and meticulous. The Waypoint cabinetry is quality solid wood with a nice finish.
